What is the “Tzohar Through Hundred and Twenty ” Initiative?

“Tzohar Through Hundred and Twenty ” is a resource for families facing difficult decisions, questions, and Halachic topics regarding their loved ones who are reaching the end of life.

The development of modern medicine is also a major blessing –improving the quality of life and the average length of days. Along with this blessing, medical progress many families are faced with difficult dilemmas as their loved ones approach the end of their lives. Many families grapple with questions such as:

  • Should we continue cardiopulmonary resuscitation of patients who are about to die at any cost?
  • How should we act in the case of a patient who requests to stop his/her treatment?
  • Is it permissible according to Halacha to discontinue a patient’s feeding tube?
  • What is the Halacha’s stance regarding “mercy-killing”?
  • Is it permissible to use painkillers even if they may shorten a patient’s life?
  • In terms of connections to, and disconnections from, a breathing device – what is Halachic?

In complex situations as these, when your loved ones hang between life and death, you are called upon to make decisions about urgent Halachic and ethical dilemmas.
